Support Excellent Teaching in Iowa

Teachers have a tremendous impact on student success. Iowa should adopt state-wide policies that help ensure that every Iowa child has a great teacher. Iowa must:

• Establish fair and robust teacher and principal evaluations that are conducted annually
• Base teacher evaluations on multiple criteria including measurements of student progress
• Provide teachers with meaningful feedback and specific professional development tailored to their needs
