We need your help. Yesterday a hearing was held in Sacramento on a bill to implement a teacher evaluation system in California. StudentsFirst members from across the state showed up to testify and tell legislators that we need real education reform - and the bill being considered doesn't meet our kids needs.
The proposed law is actually a step backwards, and misses the mark on creating a comprehensive teacher evaluation system. In fact, it would actually stand in the way of the important reforms we need to make sure every child in every classroom has a great teacher.
We must start basing critical decisions about education policy on the impact those policies have on our children. Please contact your legislators today. Tell them that we must pass REAL reform in California so that a strong teacher evaluation system ensures that every student has a great teacher.
