Save Great Teachers Partners

Like StudentsFirst, these organizations want to Save Great Teachers.

This year, due to budget cuts, 160,000 teachers face layoffs. Even worse, because layoff decisions in most states are based on seniority instead of effectiveness, this year we could lose our best teachers. Through their own work, and in collaboration with StudentsFirst, organizations committed to a great education for all students are standing together to keep effective teachers in the classroom.

Democrats for Education

Every child should be taught by a great teacher. Quality matters.

Donors Choose

DonorsChoose.org envisions a nation where children in every community have the tools and experiences needed for an excellent education.

National Alliance for Public Charter Schools

Every public school in this nation should have the same flexibility possessed by most public charter schools to hire and retain those teachers and administrators who have the greatest impacts on student achievement.

National Youth Association

It is more than essential for the youth to fight for their rights and take control of their future. The National Youth Association focuses on representing the voice of the youth at the national, state, and local level. NYA possesses a clear vision and passion for delivering equal representation across the nation to ensure hope for our future generation.

The New Teacher Project

Teachers matter. In the fight to eliminate educational inequality, teachers matter most. The New Teacher Project works with school districts and states nationwide to ensure that poor and minority students get outstanding teachers.

Students for Education Reform

Students for Education Reform supports the Save Great Teachers campaign because as students, we know the importance of high-quality teachers. Laying off our best teachers hurts students and contributes to the devastating educational inequity in this country. It is imperative that states end seniority-based firing practices in order to ensure that all students have access to great teachers.
