| Keep Great Teachers in the Classroom Schools in California have been devastated by teacher layoffs. While teachers may be protected this year, budget pressures and outdated policies in California will result in layoffs of great teachers in the future. We must keep effective teachers in the classroom where they belong — teaching our kids. Recognize Excellence in our Schools We should evaluate teachers and principals in a fair and meaningful way so that we can reward excellence in the classroom and we can support teachers who need improvement. We owe this to our students. Quality Public School Options Every student deserves to attend a great school regardless of their zip code. We must expand the number of quality school options, including high performing public charter schools, so they can serve more students. |
